Let me start off by saying that that was first ever feeling symbol I have ever used - but the situation fits the first. My sister is moving out of state this morning. And although I did not think it was going to affect me I miss her already. I have only one sibling, a sister 2 years younger then myself. She is everything I am not, organized, put together, crazy smart and she cares about the little things. This worked well for us as business partners because when we were setting up our website she cared about all the details and language of the site, and branding us. All things that will be invaluable down the line. I did not realaize all of her work until this past week when I had to put together my site in a matter of days.
I did it, not as well as she did but it got done. But there lies the difference. I get it done, not pretty but it's done (Slacker Mom) she gets it done and it is gorgeous.
All that work I just did got me thinking about differences and strengths and weaknesses of people, but children in particular. I have 3 boys and they are completely different, they have similarities but that is because they are being raised in the same house. Think about it, 2 people have genetic traits and they marry. So your children inherit for better or worse these traits. My sister likes to say that we inherited every bad trait my parents have. It is a family joke but true. My middle son is emotional and never forgets anything.Guilty as charged!
So is that the common bond between siblings that are so different....the fact that they can commiserate over their parents bad traits? I think it might be and it seems to be just enough.
As I said in my first blog some of my favorite people are Type A mothers, wether they live here or somewhere else.

WELCOME!
Welcome to the The Slackermoms clubhouse. The group is growing and we are getting jackets. Let's see when did I realize that I was a slackermom...probably right after I had my 3rd son. Don't get me wrong I was loaded with slacker potential from the start but I fell right into the hole in September of 06'. I wanted to get my kids t-shirts so teachers would know what they were dealing with. I forget to hand in permission slips and put money in the lunch accounts. I never made 1 writers workshop (I am sure that my middle son will speak about that at my eulogy.)
My baby has a mouth that a teamster would be proud of and walks the halls all night flicking on lights and slamming doors.
I am sure you are sitting there nodding... that sounds like you right! You are not a bad mother but you just don't seem to have a handle on everything (or do you?).
This is a place away from the the type A perfect mother...the women who is showered for morning drop off, or better yet, has everything done so she can play a game of tennis without backing up the laudry, food shopping or house cleaning. Some of my favorite people are these women.
Don't get me wrong I am the first one out the door on a beautiful beach day with a cooler of PBJ's and juice but my house usually looks like a bomb hit......Slacker! Noone said slackers don't have fun. We just don't really care what the house looks like or if cereal is for dinner. Of course the teacher will lend the kids $2.00 for lunch and my kids have never missed a field trip. I get there I just take a different route.
So this blog will be a place for moms who slack off or so we think. I will have alot of guest bloggers(a labor and delivery to name one) and feel free to send emails on topics that are near and dear to your heart. I will also from time to time be talking about products or services that I feel make life a little easier(life is tough enough) and no I do not get a kick back.
I hope you will join me.
So if this sounds like you and your friends WELCOME!
