Ok - I started off thinking I was going to blog everyday well that is not going to happen. Somewhere along the way my life took over. Now that we are in November I am back and ready to roll.
I do something that I have found out most people do not do - I pay attention. When someone tells me something or I am having a conversation I actually listen and engage my mind and memory in that conversation. This works to a terrible disadvantage to some people - because not only do I study what they are saying and to whom but I have a great memory and it sticks in there like flies to paper.
I bring this up because ...I AM GUILTY OF IT TOO....we complain too much. When did the goal get to be about who has it the hardest or what we do not have. Every conversation, everywhere I go that is what is the gist of the conversations.. The economy sucks...My husband does not help...my kids do not listen...my hairdresser cut too much off...I have not had a vacation...
All true, all valid but don't you get tried of hearing it - worse- hearing it come out of your mouth.
Now do not get me wrong, there are real issues to complain about and when someone asks you a question to lie or fabricate the truth is not what I am talking about. I am talking about the daily grind. We are all there, our kids are all over scheduled and too much work. Show me the women who did not take on more than she can handle and you can bet the Vicadin is in her purse or the flask in her jacket pocket -( that excludes the hockey moms - it is very cold in those rinks). But maybe there is a better way.
I CHALLENGE YOU - just when you are going to complain about the laundry or the pick-up or what your husband does not pick-up - drop a $1 in the jar. It is a great way to monitor what you say or how you say it. Also who knows maybe you can afford a better haircut or if you are real complainer maybe a trip to the Bahamas!
PS- I have 5 bucks in there and I started it yesterday.
